The Position

A Deckhand’s role is to work within the Marine Operations team and support the running of our vessels to successfully grow seaweed (Asparagopsis) on our marine farm.

The main responsibilities of the Deckhand are;

• Assist in the activities required to harvest and develop seaweed on the marine farm;

• Loading and unloading of supplies;

• Lease maintenance;

• General maintenance and upkeep of various equipment including the vessels; and

• Using and operating deck machinery and lifting equipment

The Person

We seek a hands-on, self-motivated person with the following attributes and qualifications;

• A great, can-do attitude;

• Has an Elements of Shipboard Safety certification or General-Purpose Hand certificate;

• Is physically fit;

• Is committed to safety;

• Holds a current driver's license;

• Has the right to work in Australia; and

• Coxswains or Master V – would be great, but not essential.
